Those who are following me on Facebook or Instagram know that I am a babywearing Mumma. I love wearing my baby not just when I am out but also when I am at home. Baby carriers are saviors when little feet don’t want to walk or when a toddler is cranky. I never step out without a carrier.

Babywearing became our best friends, as my son loves being carried close. He’s two years old and we still carry him and will continue as it makes us comfortable and helps us bond in a better way.

Now, I am pregnant with my second baby and whenever I wear my toddler, people give a surprising look and often ask me “Is it safe to wear toddler, while pregnant?” If your doctor allows then answer is Big Yes.Babywearing while pregnant is an excellent way to bond with the older child.

“Babywearing helps them explore the world with you when they are not ready to without you”

You can use different types of the baby carrier while pregnant but my favorite carrier for pregnancy is Onbuhimo. Onbuhimo is a waistless back carrier and it’s like wearing your love on the back without stress or pain. I was lucky enough to try Souls Onbuhimo. My Onbu came in a small white colored box. I was surprised to see that a carrier fits in such a small box and it’s almost weightless.

SOUL ONBUHIMO REVIEW

What I loved about Soul Onbuhimo?

The moment I received the box I was surprised to see how small and tiny it was.  I love that the carrier is 100% linen and is extremely lightweight, the grey of the linen fabric had a beautiful shimmer to it. It has a simple panel and shoulder straps that are easy to reach. It has one hood, which is amazingly convenient to pull up. The shoulder straps have a pad that isn’t dense but is just thick enough to have a nice distributed weight. I have never felt any sort of discomfort while wearing my baby.

It took me a bit of getting used to but the carriers are really high and the toddler can look over your shoulder. Onbu is great during pregnancy and I really love it for tandem wearing. It’s easy to put on your back and there is no stress on the belly as its waistless.

Soul Onbuhimo made my pregnancy journey super comfortable and I am impressed by the ease of use and comfort of this carrier. It’s very handy and its very easy to pack when not in use.

Note for Expecting Mothers– Please consult your healthcare provider before starting babywearing.

  1. Lovely baby wearing pics! I really regret not having done this with my kids but there’s a new baby expected in the family and I’m definitely going to make the parents read more on baby wearing.

  2. First things first – you look lovely 🙂 we love baby wearing but as much as I have been wanting to give onbu a try, we haven’t because my baby is only 11.5 months now. What do you think is an appropriate age to start with an onbu ? We are currently using an SSC but as much as I love baby wearing, I have the straps 🙁

  4. The more pregnant mamas who post about their babywearing journeys, the better! It’s seriously so much easier on your back than carrying the baby in your arms. And the Soul onbuhimo is a personal favourite.

  5. I too was a baby wearing mama when my now 3 yo was little darling, though I used different carrier which was also good, this one seems a comfy and perfect for babies. Good review

  6. Babywearing is such helpful for moms. Moms can be with kids and can have hands free. Never heard of Soul Onbuhimo product

  7. Baby wearing was especially amazing wiith my little one because she was a colic baby and needed that constant skin touch all the time.. I love the fact that there is so much that has come up in the market to make mommy hood a little easier

  8. It looks comfortable. With my elder one I used slings but the younger one is too naughty to wear sling at first place. This one definitely looks comfortable will suggest to friends and family

  9. Loved your picture carrying your tot. N this is such a detailed review.. i haven’t yet tried, onbohimo yet.. may be I should now… all the best for your pregnancy journey. And yes, posts like these inspire more n more moms to try babywearing.

  10. We have a soul full buckle toddler carrier and it’s so handy especially when I’m traveling. Karma prefers front hanging than back so I never tried onbuhimo but knowing soul, all their products are top notch!
